Vodafone McLaren Mercedes freut sich zu bestätigen, dass der Finne Heikki Kovalainen in der Saison 2008 mit dem Formel 1 Vizeweltmeister Lewis Hamiltons Teamkollege wird. Spanier Pedro de la Rosa bleibt dritter Fahrer und ein integraler Bestandteil des Teams, während Gary Paffett Pedro beim Testprogramm unterstützen wird, wenn erforderlich. Kovalainen muß sein Cockpit bei Renault für Fernando Alonso verlassen.


Vodafone McLaren Mercedes is pleased to confirm that Finn Heikki Kovalainen will team up with Formula 1 World Championship second-runner-up Lewis Hamilton for the 2008 season. Spaniard Pedro de la Rosa will remain the third driver and an integral part of the team, whilst Gary Paffett will assist Pedro with the testing programme when required. Kovalainen has to leave his cockpit at Renault for Fernando Alonso.
