Kurz nach dem Start begann es heftig zu regnen.
A few minutes after the start it began to rain very strong.
Auch Lewis Hamilton rutschte von der Strecke.
Also Lewis Hamilton slided off the track.
Glücklicherweise wurde der McLaren-Mercedes nicht beschädigt. Lewis konnte weiterfahren.
Fortunately the McLaren-Mercedes was not damaged. Lewis could continue the race.
Fernando jagte Massa.
Fernando chased Massa.
In der 55. Runde konnte er Massa überholen ...
In lap 55 he could overtake Massa ...
... und gewann das Rennen!
... and won the race!

Am Ende nur der dritte Platz für Lewis.

Die 4,411 Kilometer lange Strecke ist in der Formel 1 einzigartig, auch wenn sie oft zu Unrecht als "Retortenkurs" bezeichnet wird. Der Asphalt ist so eben wie auf keiner anderen Rennpiste, weshalb die Autos mit sehr geringer Bodenfreiheit fahren und somit dank erhöhten Anpressdrucks sehr hohe Kurvengeschwindigkeiten erreichen. Jedoch ist der Asphalt sehr wenig griffig, was eine gute Traktionskontrolle erfordert und die Hinterräder schnell verschleißen lässt. Die Teams verwenden auf der Suche nach Grip eher weichere Reifenmischungen.
The 4.411 kilometers long distance is singular in the formula 1, even if it's often called to injustice “retort course”. The bitumen is as even as on no other circuit, why the cars drive with very small clearance and thus owing to increased contact pressure achieves very high speed of turn. However the bitumen is very little handy, which requires good traction control and which lets the rear wheels abrase quickly. The teams use rather softer tire mixtures on the search for grip.
Berüchtigt sind die sich ständig verändernden Streckenbedingungen. Die Sonne heizt den Asphalt sehr schnell auf, da dieser sehr dunkel ist, und auch ein Windrichtungswechsel kann dazu führen, dass das Setup der Autos von Minute zu Minute verändert werden muss. Gefürchtet ist auch der französische Landregen, da dieser wegen der extrem ebenen Strecke schlecht abfließt und den wenig rauen Asphalt schnell rutschig werden lässt.
The constantly changing distance conditions are notorious. The sun heats the bitumen very fast, since this is very dark, and also a change of wind direction can lead to the fact that the setup of the cars must be changed from minute to minute. Also feared is the French land rain, since this flows off badly because of the extremely even circuit and the smooth bitumen becomes slippery.
